JOY

JAM Dance Fitness is a party. It’s a celebration of who we are as individuals. Join a group of like-minded people for a dance party like you’ve never seen before! Shake your thang to the best songs from every genre and every decade while just having fun. Who says exercise has to be boring? Enjoy a high intensity workout made up of choreographed dances intended to boost both your physical and mental wellbeing.


FREEDOM

JAM Dance Fitness is not about nailing the choreography, burning calories, or dancing your way towards a specific body type. It’s about doing something for yourself. Whether you want to challenge yourself to try something new, push yourself to move your body, or just want to find freedom through movement, JAM Dance Fitness may be for you!

CONFIDENCE

While each class may be a bit different, songs are often repeated giving you the chance to learn the choreography over time. As Jamie Kinkeade – the creator of JAM Dance Fitness and founder of the The Studio by Jamie Kinkeade – says, “Once you get it, then you GET IT!”

FAQs

DO I NEED TO HAVE DANCE EXPERIENCE?

Nope! JAM Dance Fitness is for everyone. If you can’t do a certain step or forget the choreography, then just freestyle (when in doubt, dance it out).


WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?

Wear clothes you can move and groove in. The key is to wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident. For shoes, wear any type of athletic shoe that doesn’t have too much grip/tread. And bring water because we will put in some WORK.


WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED? WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS OF OPERATION?

While I look for a permanent spot, I’ll be hosting pop-up classes at a variety of locations in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area. Visit Classes & Pricing for more details.


IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE TO ATTEND?

Currently, JAM Dance Fitness is intended for those over 18.

WHAT KIND OF DANCING HAPPENS AT JAM?

You can expect a mix of musical genres and dance styles, including hip-hop, pop, Latin, country, jive and more.


Is this the same JAM dance fitness that I’ve seen on YouTube/other social platforms?

If it’s JAM from The Studio by Jamie Kinkeade, then yep! Your instructor Hilary (that’s me!) was certified by Jamie herself, and I’m super excited to bring this high-energy dance party to Hamilton!

Hi, I’m Hilary

I suffer from anxiety and depression and when the pandemic hit, I went into a tailspin. It ​felt like everything was hopeless and any motivation I’d had for life was gone. One day, ​my wonderful sister put on a YouTube video of a woman dancing in her backyard and ​encouraged me to get up and try to move my body along with her.


I was hooked. I danced to that video - 40 Minute Feel Good Dance Workout by The ​Studio by Jamie Kinkeade - on repeat for weeks until I realized there were more videos. ​Then I realized there was a whole website!


Fast forward a few years and here I am, a certified JAM Dance Fitness Party Sta​rter! I am passionate about bringing JAM Dance Fitness to Canada and to my commun​ity in the Greater Toronto and Hamil​t​on Area.


Along with professional medical help, I truly believe that JAM Dance Fitness ​has been a major part of my mental health journey. I feel the best I have ever felt and I can​’t wait to share with you the joy JAM Dance Fitness has b​rought me.
